Our Philosophy of Care
We support the fundamental principles of “Valuing People” and believe that service users should develop to live a fulfilled and valued life. Our ethos is that service users should be able to develop and grow, emotionally, educationally, socially and spiritually. This should be done by both encouraging and supporting them to access services which can meet their needs and aspirations.
We aim to help them achieve this by:-
- Adopting a `Person Centred Approach’.
- Creating a suitable environment in which they will be encouraged to take control over their lives.
- Embracing the principles of “Valuing People”.
- Encouraging transparency and good communication.
- Building confidence and trust with all stakeholders, including service users, parents, relatives etc.
- Establishing a staff team who share our values, commitment and professionalism.
- Meeting our responsibilities for the delivery of our service and acting positively in the event of any complaints.
- Establishing a quality management system.
- Working in partnership with regulatory bodies to ensure our service meets with all standards and regulations.
An appropriate way of measuring the quality of care is to use a value system, designed to help services to support people towards an ordinary life. The most universally recognised of these systems are the seven accomplishments in service provision, which are:
- Community Presence
- Individuality
- Choice
- Competence
- Status and Respect
- Relationships/Partnerships
- Continuity
These seven fundamental requirements should be used to measure the value which services help to bring about in the lives of people who use the service.
