Gwenne is a Registered Nurse and has worked in the field of learning disabilities for 34 years, predominantly with people who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She has a sound knowledge of developing and providing specialist person centred services having worked in the voluntary, public and independent sectors.  Her experience is extensive in being responsible for managing and directing teams and undertaking the commissioning, tendering and development of autism specific projects e.g. residential, supported living, outreach and those holding Individual budgets.
She has been an Approved Accreditation Team Leader for The National Autistic Societies Autism Services Accreditation Programme. This entails leading a team of professionals in carrying out a quality audit on other services throughout the UK that specialise in providing support services for people with autism.
Gwenne has been a member of the Confederation of Service Providers for People with Autism (CoSPPA) for 14 years and currently holds the seat of Chairperson for Adult Services – within this role she organises two national conferences every year and co-ordinates an agenda that keeps members informed of industry changes, research and networking practices.
During her career, she has had the opportunity to work alongside some inspirational professionals from whom she has learned to develop her professional beliefs and values in relations to people with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disability.
Autism Support & Care Ltd feel her attributes, knowledge, experience and personality has been instrumental in quality service provision and growth and in turn has lead to forging strong links with local authorities and other professional agencies.  Her leadership style is balanced between being task oriented and relationship-focussed, utilising mainly participation and delegation but being directive where appropriate.
With her experience and knowledge she will endeavour to not only provide a high quality service to all individuals but to ensure that they are central in whatever decisions are taken about them that may affect their lives.
